Sasha Martyniuk is an indie musician, singer-songwriter, and an artist originally from Kyiv, Ukraine, now based in Vancouver, Canada. His work is defined by a distinctive blend of rock, electronic, and classical influences, shaped into a dreamy, melancholic sound that prioritizes emotional depth and narrative honesty.

At the core of Sasha’s music is storytelling. His songs explore themes of love, distance, vulnerability, self-doubt, and personal transformation — often shaped by lived experiences of separation, migration, and uncertainty. These ideas are central to his latest album, Frames, a deeply personal release that reflects on connection through distance, the fragility of everyday moments, and the quiet resilience found in human relationships. The album presents music as both documentation and refuge — snapshots of emotion preserved in sound.

Sasha began his musical journey through songwriting and performance, gradually expanding his practice through collaboration and formal study. He performs both as a solo artist with acoustic guitar and as part of a full band, adapting his arrangements to different spaces while maintaining an intimate, immersive atmosphere. His live performances emphasize sincerity over spectacle, inviting listeners into a shared emotional space.

In Vancouver, Sasha has performed at a range of venues and events, including a live concert at the Canadian Music Centre, and his music has reached wider audiences through local radio, including Vancouver’s 100.5 FM. He continues to collaborate with musicians internationally, treating collaboration as a core part of his creative process.

Sasha completed his Music Diploma at Vancouver Community College (VCC) in Spring 2025, strengthening his skills in composition, musicianship, vocal technique, rhythm, audio production, and performance. This formal training supports his work as a songwriter, composer, and bandleader, giving structure and clarity to his artistic vision.

Alongside music, Sasha works extensively in visual storytelling. As a content creator specializing in videography, photography, and video editing, he produces visual work for artists and brands in Canada and Ukraine. This visual sensibility directly informs his musical output, influencing the cinematic pacing, atmosphere, and conceptual coherence of his releases.

Sasha’s ongoing goal is to continue creating, recording, and performing original music that resonates emotionally and reflects real human experience. Through music, visuals, and live performance, he seeks to build meaningful connections with audiences and share work that feels honest, intimate, and enduring.
